Hello and welcome,

www.matchworn.co.uk is now a home/links page to my own and a few fellow collectors personal collections of football players match worn/game worn/game used/match issue football shirts or jerseys. If i can take this opportunity to introduce myself, I am Simon, known to most people as Shakey - because I have an unusual surname! ;-) - and I’ve been a collector of football shirts since the end of the 70’s, later in 1994, discovering the joys and differences of match worn players shirts and been hooked ever since.

Matchworn.co.uk is currently work in progress, and will eventually link you to many different collections of my own, Wales, Ryan Giggs and Manchester United –coming soon- Dennis Bergkamp –again coming soon- and other superb collections from Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and to be added later this year an England shirt collection of unbelievable quality, including greats such as Matthews, Finney, Moore, Charlton, Banks, Greaves, Shilton, Lineker, Gascoigne and Beckham. It is hoped that once completed, apart from the continual new additions, that matchworn.co.uk will become an excellent resource and point of reference for player football shirt collectors all over the world. A place of reference, for shirt history, styles, differences and any other information related to football shirts/soccer jerseys! plus player profiles and other stats. Of course this knowledge is based around collectors linked here and their own areas of specialist interest. Nobody can claim to know everything but I trust you will find it useful. There are many exciting projects planned for 2009 and beyond, including publications and a new web site, with the idea of experienced collectors helping to introduce new collectors to the joys of the wonderful hobby of football match worn shirts/soccer game used jerseys. By working together the genuine collectors can do our bit to help stamp out the curse of the hobby: the fakers, and their fake shirts. Using this pooled shirt knowledge we can assist in authenticating players shirts for the UK Auction Houses and I am personally very pleased to be associated with Graham Budd Auctions at Sothebys.
