Welcome to matchworn.co.uk

Welcome to a home/links page to the personal collections of a number of genuine collectors of football players match worn/game worn/game used/match issue football shirts or jerseys. I am Simon, the curator of this page and walesmatchshirts.com, known to most people as Shakey. Having been a collector of match worn player shirts for nearly 20 years, seriously for the last ten, I have set up this and other web sites to display my own personal collections. These can be viewed by clicking the links on the left, with a new Ryan Giggs Match Shirts coming very soon.

Matchworn.co.uk still remains work in progress. There are many exciting projects planned for 2010 and beyond, including publications and other new sites, with the idea of experienced collectors helping to introduce new collectors to the joys of the wonderful hobby of football match worn shirts/soccer game used jerseys. During the year some of these great projects that are in the pipeline will include, one major collection from, who many consider, the foremost collector of football memorabilia, which will be displayed, and think will be enjoyed and admired by fellow collectors. Plus plans to display another superb collection England shirt's of unbelievable quality. There are new links to collections of Manchester United, Arsenal, Sweden, Denmark and both the giants of Scottish club football, Rangers and Celtic and the link to the Manchester United shirt history takes you to a superb Unitedkits.com, surely the only place to view the definitive United kit history anywhere on the internet. For all the new and other collections, we recommend click the collectors links on the left.

It is hoped that with the continual new additions, matchworn.co.uk will become an excellent resource point for referencing match worn football shirt information from all over the world. A place of reference, for shirt history, styles, differences and any other information related to match worn football shirts and memorabilia, as well as player profiles and other stats. Of course this knowledge is based around collectors linked here and their own areas of specialist interest. Nobody can claim to know everything but I trust you will find it useful. By all working together the genuine collectors can do their bit to help stamp out the curse of the hobby: the fakers, and their fake shirts. Using this pooled shirt knowledge we can all assist in helping authenticate player's shirts for the UK Auction Houses and other genuine serious collectors whether they are experienced or new to the hobby. I am personally very pleased to be associated with Graham Budd Auctions at Sothebys.

So why not bookmark this page to see any updates and new additions. I know that all the collectors linked on this page are very proud of what they have, and trust viewing their collections gives you as much enjoyment as it has given us all, putting them together. If you have any questions, any shirts for sale that you think may be of interest or just want to discuss anything related to match worn memorabilia then please do get in touch.

Happy collecting and enjoy

Regards,

Shakey

An essential web site to view for the serious collector or football historian is
www.thenationalfootballcollection.org.uk
Another work in progress web site, but now the collection is being catalogued, some superb items have been added for viewing. Because this is the largest personal collection in private ownership, the sheer size means that it will take up to 4 years to add everything to the site!

Any football memorabilia of quality is always being sourced. Do you have any vintage football memorabilia hiding in the loft or tucked away at the back of a drawer? Things of interest including medals, caps, shirts, programmes, ticket stubs, badges, press photographs always sought, and complete player's collections especially welcome. So if you have anything that maybe of interest, for sale or just want to request an estimated value then please contact William through the web site or anything match worn shirt related please contact myself.
